按技术可分为分通用型（AGM）与胶体（GEL）两类铅酸蓄电池。
AGM电池采用玻璃纤维棉(Absorbed Glass MAT)做隔板,贫液式电解液设计（电解液吸附在极板与隔板中，电池内无流动电解液）。
GEL(胶体)采用二氧化硅做凝固剂，电解液吸附在极板和胶体内。 按使用用途可主要分为：起动型蓄电池、固定型、牵引动力型等。
